The story of Banana Kush

Dave Crockett's family had been preserving a Skunk Haze line since the early 1970s - seeds from Northern California that he calls the ancestor of Amsterdam's famous Haze. Around 2004-2006 he crossed it with the Ghost OG cut he'd spent years hunting, and the offspring produced a faint banana smell nobody expected. He named it Banana Kush, renamed it Private Reserve after discovering the name was taken, and the banana name eventually stuck anyway. In 2010-2012 he crossed it with a Strawberry Bubble Gum pheno to create Strawberry Banana, which won major Cups in 2014 and put the Crockett family in the High Times Seed Bank Hall of Fame (2017). 62 direct descendants from the Crockett cut alone.
