Northern Lights began as near-pure Afghani indica seed collected from the Hindu Kush region, grown in the Pacific Northwest by a breeder known only as 'The Priest' in the late 70s. Eleven numbered phenotypes emerged; #1 through #9 were stabilized, and #5 - crossed with a Thai/Colombian hybrid male by Nevil Schoenmaker of the Seed Bank - became the legend: 1990 High Times Cup winner and the parent strain of the modern era.
