What is THC distillate?
THC distillate is cannabis extract purified down to a single cannabinoid. The oil is distilled in a closed system that separates THC from the plant's terpenes, fats and other compounds, leaving a thick, clear oil that is almost flavourless and very potent. Because the refinement removes the plant character, distillate is the opposite approach to live resin, which keeps the full terpene profile by processing the plant as little as possible.
That refinement is the point: distillate is potent, predictable and easy to measure. Every batch tests high and consistent, and there is no plant taste to plan around.
Activated vs non-activated distillate
Activated (decarboxylated) distillate has already been heated through the distillation process, so it can be taken by mouth or added to food without extra preparation. Our Strike Gold activated distillate is this kind. Non-activated distillate needs decarboxylation first if you plan to eat it, but works as-is for dabbing or vaping. Check the product description if you are unsure which kind you are buying.
How to use THC distillate
- Under the tongue or swallowed: activated distillate can be taken directly or added to food or drink. Effects take longer to arrive than inhaled options, so wait before taking more.
- Dabbing: a rice-grain-sized amount on a nail or banger, or in an e-nail.
- Vape refilling: distillate can be used to fill refillable 510 cartridges or vape pens. Our flavoured Top Shelf distillate is made for this.
- Bowl topper: a small amount on top of flower in a bowl or joint.
Dosing: distillate is among the most concentrated formats, so start with a very small amount, roughly a grain of rice, and wait at least 2 hours before judging, especially for anything taken by mouth.
Distillate vs live resin vs shatter
Distillate is refined to a single cannabinoid: maximum potency and consistency, no plant flavour. Live resin is the opposite: fresh-frozen plants processed as little as possible, so the full terpene profile and range of plant compounds stay intact, and the flavour is the closest thing to the plant itself. Shatter sits in between: a refined extract made from dried plant, with more character than distillate and a more stable texture than live resin. If you want reliability and a clean, predictable experience, pick distillate. If flavour matters most, pick live resin.
How to store THC distillate
Keep it in its original syringe or jar, sealed, away from heat and light. A cool cupboard is fine for regular use; the fridge extends the life. Let it warm to room temperature before use, since cold distillate is thick and hard to measure.
Is THC distillate legal in Canada?
Yes. Distillate is a legal cannabis extract in Canada under the Cannabis Act. You must be 19+ to purchase (18 in Alberta, 21 in Quebec). Both distillates on this page ship across Canada by Canada Post Xpress in discreet, smell-proof packaging.
