What is THC vape juice?
THC vape juice (also called THC e-liquid or vape oil) is cannabis extract diluted into a carrier liquid that vaporizes cleanly in a cartridge or refillable pen. It delivers THC through inhalation: fast onset (2-5 minutes), precise dosing per puff, and no smoke or combustion byproducts.
It's different from pre-filled cartridges in one way: you control the fill. That means more flexibility on potency and flavour, but also means you need a compatible battery or pen.
Potency: what the mg/mL means
THC vape juice is measured in milligrams per millilitre (mg/mL). Common ranges:
- Low (5-15 mg/mL): light effects, good for daytime or microdosing
- Medium (15-30 mg/mL): the sweet spot for most users; noticeable but functional
- High (30-50+ mg/mL): strong effects per puff; better for experienced users or sleep
One important note: a "1000mg" bottle that is 60ml is actually ~16mg/mL, which is much weaker than a "1000mg" 10ml cartridge at 100mg/mL. Always check the ml, not just the total mg.
Distillate vs live resin vs full-spectrum
The extract type changes the high as much as the dose:
- Distillate is the most common: pure isolated THC, flavourless on its own (hence added terpenes). Reliable potency, clean vapor, but one-dimensional.
- Live resin is extracted from flash-frozen plant, preserving the full terpene profile. Richer flavour, more nuanced effect, usually more expensive.
- Full-spectrum keeps everything: THC, CBD, CBN, terpenes, flavonoids. Produces the most well-rounded experience and is what most people prefer once they have tried it.
Cartridge compatibility
Most THC vape juice for sale in Canada uses 510-thread cartridges, which fit the overwhelming majority of batteries and vape pens. If you are buying bottled juice (not pre-filled carts), you will need a refillable 510-thread cartridge or a dedicated e-liquid vaporizer. Check the product page for the fill type.
How to use THC vape juice safely
- Start with one or two short puffs, wait 10-15 minutes before judging
- Hold the vapour briefly (2-3 seconds), do not chain-puff
- Store upright in a cool, dark place; heat degrades THC
- Clean refillable cartridges between flavours

How to choose the right THC vape juice
Three things matter more than brand name:
1. Extraction method. Live resin if you want flavour and a fuller high. Distillate if you want maximum THC per dollar.
2. Carrier liquid. MCT oil and PEG are common but produce harsher vapour. VG-based juices are smoother. Avoid anything with vitamin E acetate.
3. Total mg, not just concentration. A 30ml bottle at 20mg/mL gives you 600mg total. A 10ml at the same concentration gives 200mg. Calculate cost per mg to compare fairly.
