The story of Gelato

Gelato came out of Cookie Fam Genetics' San Francisco program in the mid-2010s - a cross of Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint GSC that became the crown of their dessert lineup. Its numbered phenotype line (Gelato 41, 33, 25) turned into a competitive hunt among growers, and Gelato 41 in particular went on to found whole breeding projects. Almost every "exotic" strain on modern dispensary menus carries Gelato genetics somewhere in its tree - it is to the 2010s what OG Kush was to the 2000s.

Terpene breakdown

• Caryophyllene: warm peppery spice in the cookie-dough base.
• Limonene: citrus brightness on the front of the flavour.
• Myrcene: the relaxing body layer, kept moderate to preserve balance.

Growing Gelato

An 8 to 10 week flower with medium-height, well-branched plants and dense, colourful buds - deep greens with purple accents in cooler finishing temps. Moderate difficulty: it is a hungry plant that responds to feeding, and the phenotype variation means growers should hunt for the best expression. Yields are moderate but the bag appeal and flavour justify it.

How to consume Gelato

Dosed-friendly despite the potency range: one or two puffs set a euphoric, cheerful tone that softens into relaxation. Vaping low brings out the cream and citrus. Works for late afternoon and evenings - social early, couch-ready later.
